CARES Act Paycheck Protection Program for Small Business
With passage of the federal CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) Act on Friday, Congress has implemented the Paycheck Protection Program for small businesses (500 employees and under).
This program will allow businesses to apply for forgivable loans that will cover 8 weeks of salary for your employees and cover certain business interest payments.
You can find information about this program from the United States Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship and the US Chamber.
Businesses can start applying now and the program remains open until June 30th.
Businesses need to work through their financial institutions to apply for these loans.
You can also still apply for the Florida Small Business Disaster Bridge Loan and the federal SBA Small Business Disaster Loan.
Medical Supply Drive this Friday
The Greater Pensacola Chamber, in conjunction with chambers across the two-county region will be holding a Medical Supply Drive this Friday, April 3rd from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
Local healthcare providers have identified their greatest needs as follows:
- Respirator Masks N95 1860/1860s
- Standard Face / Surgical Masks (Loop or Tie-on)
- Flexible Mini-Tip Flocked Swab-Nasopharyngeal
- Full Length Face Shields
- Isolation Gowns
- Nitrile Medical Examination Gloves
Volunteers will be accepting donations via drive-by drop-off at:
