I hope you had the opportunity to read the Guestview submitted by Greater Pensacola Chamber Board Chairman Justin Beck. If not, read here.
Beck submitted this after the Chamber Board of Directors met with the consultant that is helping the Escambia County School Board with the superintendent search. During that meeting our board members laid out the characteristics that they want to see in our next superintendent. This was a robust conversation that resulted in the conclusions shared in Justin’s Guestview.
The Chamber will stay focused on the superintendent search as it progresses this year. In my opinion, the selection of the next superintendent will be the most important local decision made in the next decade. The right selection will help us build on the progress that’s been made while addressing areas of our K-12 education system that still need improvement. The wrong choice will set our students back and hinder efforts to grow our community and economy.
